The Inc. Program Manager

With the support of The Inc.’s Board of Directors, the Program Manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of The Inc.’s Coworking and Playschool spaces.  This requires a mix of running an early education program to meet the needs of our members’ children, and running a coworking and networking space to help our members achieve their career goals.

The Organization

The Inc. Community Coworking + Playschool is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that aims to achieve gender equity in entrepreneurship, in the workplace and home through the creation of community-driven, neighborhood-centric workspaces for parents with onsite care for their young children. The Inc. is pioneering a unique solution to the high-demand of flexible, affordable childcare in Seattle and fostering a positive, child-friendly workplace culture that inspires connection, confidence, and growth for parents at any stage of their career development or entrepreneurial journey.

The Inc. opened its doors February 2017 and is located in the Greenlake neighborhood of Seattle, inside of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Responsibilities

  • Employee and volunteer management including recruiting and onboarding, scheduling, payroll administration, general oversight, and disciplinary action;

  • Daily oversight of The Inc.’s operations, delegating tasks to employees and volunteers as needed;

  • Basic financial oversight of the organization including light bookkeeping and apprising the Board of Directors of any concerning changes to cash flow or membership levels;

  • Planning and delegating tasks relating to member recruitment and outreach, ensuring current members receive timely notification of The Inc.’s events or changes to our offerings and potential members are being both passively and actively recruited;

  • Communicating with our members and greater community using email, social media, and other mediums;

  • General membership management to ensure the highest levels of Playschool attendance on a day-to-day basis, such as monitoring booking levels and waitlists;

  • Develop and maintain on-site program offerings, including recurring and one-off events, for members, their children, and the community;

  • Report to the Board of Directors at the monthly meeting on the status of the site and organization; and

  • Other related duties and responsibilities as may be required to ensure the smooth running of the organization.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will need a mix of experience, ambition, and creativity to thrive in this role.  Background will include some or all of the following:

  • Must have 1 year of employee or volunteer management experience;

  • Must have 1 year of experience managing a team, store, or organization, and understand the basic organizational needs of a small business;

  • Must pass a background check;

  • Must be, or within 6 months of hire become, certified in CPR and basic first-aid;

  • Willingness to learn new systems;

  • Creative approaches to day-to-day and organizational challenges;

  • Experience in one or more related fields including non-profit, early childhood education, small business management, coworking, or similar;

  • General technological fluency, including email, social media, and word processing programs;

  • Positive attitude and client-focused mentality;

  • Exemplary communication skills; and

  • High ethical standards.

Position Details and Benefits

  • Part-time position for 25-30 hours/week with some flexibility to work remotely

  • Must be on-site at least 4 days/week during hours of operation, (approximately 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM)

  • Compensation range $20-25/hour, dependent upon experience

  • Paid time off

  • Discounted on-site childcare for up to two (2) children
